Saturday mornings in Kailua-Kona have a rhythm all their own, and it starts at the Keauhou Farmers Market. Sponsored by the Kona County Farm Bureau, this weekly gathering draws together the farmers, fishers, beekeepers, and bakers who actually grow and raise what they sell. Every item on every table is 100% Hawaii Island origin, no exceptions. You'll find cacao pods, strawberry papaya, mangosteen, mamey sapote, and tropical fruits you may have never tasted before, alongside local honey, fresh-baked goods, and produce priced well below what you'll find at markets closer to downtown.

What sets this market apart from a produce run is the atmosphere. Live music plays every Saturday morning while you browse, turning a simple shopping trip into something you'll want to repeat. Vendors are genuinely knowledgeable about what they grow and how to enjoy it. Ask about a fruit you don't recognize and you'll get a real answer, not a shrug.

The market runs from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, rain or shine, at the Keauhou Shopping Center on Ali'i Drive. With a 4.6-star rating from over 275 visitors, it's become a Saturday ritual for residents and a discovery for every traveler smart enough to show up early.

What We Offer

The Keauhou Farmers Market is more than a place to buy produce. It's a weekly community institution built around the idea that Hawaii Island's food system should benefit the people who live here.

Every Saturday you'll find stalls loaded with locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh-caught seafood, island honey, handmade baked goods, and other products raised entirely on Hawaii Island. The vendor program connects local growers directly with buyers, cutting out the middleman and keeping dollars in the local economy. Live music runs throughout the market hours, making the whole experience feel like a Saturday celebration rather than a chore. The KCFB College Scholarship program supports the next generation of Hawaii Island farmers and agricultural leaders. Kona County Farm Bureau membership is available for those who want to deepen their connection to the island's farming community and its mission of community-oriented food systems.

This is the market where ripe means actually ripe, where the person who grew your papaya can tell you exactly when to eat it.

"Great selection of local produce, honey, baked goods, etc. Much cheaper produce than the downtown market, and the fruits were ripe too. The stuff we bought downtown upon arrival to Kona was hard as a rock and took days to soften."

"This farmers marker opens every Saturday. Many local farmers bring their products with good condition and reasonable price. Famers market is one of good places you may want to visit for your visiting in Hawaii because you could experience their lives and also gain good products with good price. This market is one of them. There will be enough parking spots, and the size of the market is not that big. Probably you will stay for about one hour to visit each store on the market."
